Welcome Message 2008 Newsletter Scientific Program

6th Annal meeting "2008":
MSPFD "Bridging the Gap"

Dr. Mario Trompetto of Rome said, when I met Prof. Shafik on 1989 in an International conference in Italy he told me" I am here to learn and teach". "Well received" 6th Annual Meeting draws over 450 to the pyramids view in Cairo, under the leadership of MSPFD president Dr. Olfat El-Sibai (3 – 5 April, 2008) at Le Meridian Pyramids.
The Congress program seemed to be the middle- East of the Mediterranean Pre-eminent forum for the research and treatment of pelvic floor disorders.
Feedback from those who attended the Congress and based on the society members, overall impression indicates that the gathering was "very well received".
The program's rigorous scientific sessions, which combined each presenter's worldly experience with intelligent, well- presented programs, were an essential key is exceeding our expectations.
Over 450 colo-rectal surgeons, Gynecologist & Obstetrics Oncologists, Diagnostic imaging consultants and Urology experts in related disciplines were competing nicely, showing their skills & sharing their updated scientific knowledge (teaching & learning!!).
We are very pleased with total attendance figures & international scientist especially considering the fact that this year's meeting was held in a way trying to cross the Gap (Prof. Ahmed Shafik had passed away 31 October, 2007).
The meeting also introduced a pre-congress Laparoscopic course at Ahmed Shafik's Hospital for 2 days (1 – 2 April, 2008) aimed at general surgery residents who may be considering a career in Colo-rectal surgery. This course was sponsored by a grant from Ahmed Shafik Foundation for Science and Cavi Dien (Formerly Tyco Health Care).
See you in April 2009 in Cairo, for more new scientific research in the 3rd joint meeting with MSCP.
